Booking a private hibachi chef for the first time can feel like a big deal — but it's actually super simple. Here's a step-by-step breakdown of what happens.
Before Your Event
Booking: Use our online calendar or call/text (646) 814-9988. Pick your date and we confirm availability. No deposit required.
Prep: Set up your dining area — tables, chairs, plates, forks, and knives. That's genuinely all you need to do. We handle everything else.
Communication: We'll confirm your booking and reach out before the event to finalize any details.
Day Of: The Chef Arrives
Your chef shows up 10–15 minutes before the scheduled start time. They bring:
- ✓Their portable hibachi grill table (it's big — make sure there's space near your dining area)
- ✓Propane tank
- ✓All fresh ingredients
- ✓Sauces (yum yum, ginger, and more)
- ✓Unlimited sake for adults 21+
Setup takes about 10 minutes. Then the show begins.
During the Party
The chef cooks for everyone at the table, one round at a time. Each guest tells the chef their 2 protein choices, and they get their own customized plate.
Expect:
- ✓Fire tricks (the famous onion volcano is a crowd favorite)
- ✓Jokes and banter — our chefs are entertainers, not just cooks
- ✓Fresh fried rice, vegetables, and salad for everyone
- ✓Sake flowing throughout for adults
The experience typically lasts 1.5 to 2 hours depending on group size.
After the Party
The chef cleans up the grill area when they're done. You handle the dishes (sorry!), but the cooking mess is all theirs.
Payment is made directly to the chef at the end of the event.
